While Video Marketing is the most important part of a Social Media Marketing Campaign, Blog Marketing comes in a close second.
Once you’ve announced your blog post on the Social Bookmarking and Social News sites and submitted your RSS feed to the top Blog and RSS Directories that accept them, you should turn your attention to more Blog Directories.
A well written and optimized blog should be a cornerstone of your SEO (search engine optimization) strategy. Announcing yourself to the following list would certainly be time well spent.

A Video Podcast, sometimes abbreviated to Videocast, vidcast or vodcast, could be defined as an audio and video file that is delivered online via RSS enclosures.
Your video becomes a podcast when you attach an RSS feed to it.
Video Bloggers, or vloggers, typically use this method to distribute their content on iTunes and other Videocast Directories.
Videocasts are used to enable easy distribution for the “on the go” crowd who consume the content on iPods and other mobile devices.
From a marketing perspective it gives you another avenue to be found by prospective customers.

The Social Bookmarking space consists of the General sites and the Social News sites.
From the Internet Marketers point of view they are great sites for building backlinks, Google page rank and traffic.
Internet users can store, organize, search and manage the links to web pages or other media that they formerly kept in folders in their preferred browser.
Finding What You’re Looking For
The success of the Internet is based on finding relevant information. Traditionally we have used keywords or keyphrases that the search engines have used to marry up the search results with the web pages concerned.
The new competitors to the search engines, the Social Bookmarking sites, have “user generated tags” to do the same job. The main advantage being that an element of human intelligence is inserted into the equation.
In this way links to information on industry specific terms that have been recommended by other browsers can be aggregated and presented to the searcher – generally providing outstanding search results.
Social News Sites
While the General Social Bookmarking sites are generally tech orientated, the Social News sites, Digg – Reddit – Newsvine etc, are tech/political with a newsy flavor.
For marketing purposes you need to provide high quality content/stories with a view to starting conversations and establishing your street cred, and not writing sales pitches.

This is the first part of a 4 part series on what Social Media sites to use to promote your videos for Search Engine Optimization purposes.
Online Video Marketing has rapidly become the number one strategy for promoting any business or non-profit organization. Given a little thought and creativity, it’s the easiest, cheapest and most powerful marketing method currently available.
Videos fall into two basic categories, entertainment or informational. My top 100 list includes mostly general video hosting sites that internet marketers will find useful. Most of them have categories that will accommodate both.
If you can create short, snappy, promotional videos and distribute them to as many of the video sharing sites as possible you will catch the eye of the major search engines virtually instantaneously. If you then promote them on the major Social Bookmarking sites and Social news sites, you have the basis of a strong social media marketing campaign. Add a dash of blogging and social networking and you’re on your way.
This is my list of the top 100 video sharing sites. I have included a couple of “infectious video” type sites but not the “humorous – sexy” type sites. You are welcome to leave a comment below with other sites – but, please, only sites of interest to video marketers.
